Black-and-white or multicoloured: 14 websites that will give you plenty of ideas for your new project

While my last web design articles were about websites with similar contents or comparable technical gadgetry such as animations, I shall talk about colours this time, or their absence.
Some of the following websites use many animations or video backgrounds, some are well adapted for tablets and smartphones. In case you are looking for ideas for a project, we have made it easier for you by putting in keywords below each website to indicate its fashionable elements. However, since good web design consists of more than stringing together stylish elements, don’t worry too much about the keywords themselves.
So without further ado, here are seven examples of websites in black and white, followed by another seven of colourful ones:
parallax effect, flat design, onepager, responsive web design
video background, parallax effect, typografy mix, responsive web design
scroll-activated animations, flat design
large images, grid, typografy mix, fixed navigation, parallax effect, responsive web design
grid, hover animations, slider with large images, scroll-activated animations, responsive web design
animations, responsive web design
large images, typografy mix, parallax effect, responsive web design

What’s your view on these two extremes? Have you already designed any black-and-white or multicoloured sites for clients? I would be very interested to hear from you.
